How Maven Works

What is Maven?
Maven is an AI-powered legal meeting intelligence platform built for law firms and in-house legal teams. It helps capture, organize, and analyze meeting conversations so your team can reduce admin work, improve follow through, and recover valuable billable time.
How does Maven work?
Maven captures meeting conversations, turns them into transcripts, and uses AI to generate structured summaries, action items, deadlines, billing support, and other useful insights.
What is required to deploy Maven to my system?
Maven is designed to be simple to deploy. It automatically syncs with your calendar and populates your upcoming meetings so you can quickly see what is scheduled.
What types of meetings can Maven support?
Maven can support virtual meetings, internal team meetings, client calls, strategy discussions, and other case related conversations.
Can I upload an in-person meeting to Maven?
Yes. If you have a transcript from an in-person meeting, it can be uploaded into the platform for analysis.
What does Maven generate after a meeting?
Maven can generate summaries, action items, deadlines, discussion highlights, billing support, and other useful meeting insights.
Does Maven only create transcripts?
No. Maven goes beyond transcription by turning conversations into structured, useful output that legal teams can review and act on.

Meeting Control and Flexibility

Can the bot be turned off for a particular meeting?
Yes. The bot can be disabled for any specific meeting by simply clicking the toggle to turn it off for that meeting.
Do I have control over which meetings Maven joins?
Yes. Maven is designed to give users control, including the ability to disable the bot for individual meetings when needed.

Billing and Productivity

Can Maven help with billing?
Yes. Maven helps identify billable activity from meeting content and supports draft billing entries for review, which can help reduce missed time and billing leakage.
How does Maven help reduce administrative work?
Maven automates much of the manual work that happens after meetings, such as note review, summary creation, action item tracking, and capturing key details.
How is Maven different from a generic note-taking tool?
Maven is built specifically for legal workflows. It does more than record and summarize conversations by helping legal teams capture meeting intelligence in a more structured and useful way.

Security, Data Protection, and Compliance

How does Maven protect sensitive data?
Maven is built with legal confidentiality in mind and is designed to protect sensitive information through secure data handling and controlled access.
Is Maven designed with compliance in mind?
Yes. Maven is built with data protection and compliance considerations in mind for law firms and in-house legal teams handling sensitive information.
What security certification frameworks does Maven have?
Maven is currently working toward SOC 2 Type II and GDPR-aligned compliance frameworks with the support of our security compliance partner, Vanta. We expect Maven to complete this process and reach full compliance readiness by summer 2026.
Who can access information in Maven?
Access to data can be controlled via Role Based Access Control (RBAC) so that only the appropriate users can view meeting information and outputs.

Getting Started

Is Maven easy for a first-time user to use?
